This is a great adventure, starting at the
headwaters of the Mississippi River, where we can literally walk across it. We
visit many towns as we venture south, enjoying the fall colors (which are
showing all around us), local activities and the history of each region.
Highlights include Minneapolis/St Paul, Hannibal, MO (home of Mark Twain and
his fictional friends Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher and Huck Finn), St. Louis and Elvis’
Graceland in Memphis, TN. We end our tour in the New Orleans area, where we fly
across the mouth of the great river in a float plane!
All of us have been busy, planning and preparing
for the tour, welcoming everyone as they arrive and inspecting vehicles to head
off potential mechanical problems. This afternoon was our orientation meeting,
where we went over the information folks might need to make their tour a
resounding success and reduce the stress of wondering what is to come. We had a
great meeting, and then a fine dinner and lots of fun. We are going to have a
great tour with all our new friends! We can’t wait to get started!
Welcome,
all!
